8th Annual Choose and Move Festival

Community Partners for Better Health (CPBH) is hosting the 8th Annual Choose and Move Festival on Saturday, September 17th, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the Doolittle Community Center, 1950 North J Street, Las Vegas, Nevada (same location as 2010).

The event will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 pm. The objectives are to encourage participants to engage in more physical activity and to provide education on the importance of physical activity and nutrition in preventing chronic disease. Activities are planned with all age groups in mind. Each year the festival grows in popularity as we continue to enlarge the offering of activities. We anticipate 300 plus attendees this year.

There will be wholesome fun for everyone in the family! Like last year, we will also feature free and low cost health screenings, dance instruction, nutrition classes and health education information will be available.

The festival is designed to encourage our community to make healthy lifestyle choices including engaging in regular physical activity, making healthy food selections, and receiving routine health care. Festival planners include Southern Nevada Health District, City of North Las Vegas, Lupus of Nevada, Sista Moon Foundation, Clark County Fire Department, 100 Black Men-Las Vegas Chapter, Metro Police Department, American Lung Association, HealthInsight, and Nathan Adelson Hospice, as well as numerous other community stakeholders.

The festival will feature a variety of free physical activity classes, as well as healthy food demonstrations. Additionally, with your participation, attendees can benefit from free and low-cost health screenings and information.
