FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT: The Outdoor Picture Show – Free Movies Under the Stars presents family favorite movies in a variety of genres, including animated hits, comedies, dramas, classics, blockbusters, musicals and new releases.

WHERE: ‘The Green’ at The District, adjacent to Whole Foods Market.  Located on the east side of Green Valley Parkway, at I-215 in Henderson, NV.

WHEN: Friday and Saturday evenings, Spring through Fall.  Screenings begin at dusk (approximately 7:00pm in Spring and Fall, and 8:00pm during the Summer months).

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?  The Outdoor Picture Show is FREE to our guests.

HOW WILL THE FILMS BE SHOWN? We project our movies through a high quality, digital rear projection system onto a 10’ 6” x 14’ screen. A powerful audio system allows guests to enjoy the movie from almost anywhere in the park.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE? As seating in the grassy area of The Green is limited, it is suggested that you arrive well before the film begins. You can arrive as early as an hour before the movie starts.  Get there early to claim your space, enjoy a picnic, take a ride on The Carousel, and enjoy the evening with your friends and neighbors.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS? Living in the Las Vegas desert, we don’t tend to see too much rain around here, although we do get some showers during the summer months.  Unfortunately, when rain, lightning, or high winds occur, we are unable to screen the movie.  If a cancellation is necessary, the movie will be rescheduled for later in the season, or for the following season.

WHERE CAN I PARK? There is plenty of complimentary parking available in the parking lots at the east side of The District.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Along with your friends and family, you might want to bring blankets, compact beach or lawn chairs, and your own picnic, snacks and beverages.

WHAT FOOD, BEVERAGES AND MERCHANDISE WILL BE AVAILABLE? The District is pleased to provide complimentary bags of popcorn for our guests.  Additional food and beverages are available from surrounding restaurants and cafes at The District.

WHAT ITEMS ARE NOT PERMITTED? Beer, wine and alcoholic beverages, fireworks and firearms are prohibited by city ordinance.  We also ask that guests do not smoke cigarettes, cigars or pipes around The Outdoor Picture Show and The Carousel areas.

CAN I BRING MY DOG(S)? Absolutely!  Well behaved pets are allowed, and are required by city ordinance to be kept on a leash. Please clean up after your pets.

WHAT ARE THE SEATING ARRANGEMENTS? The grassy area at The Green is the ideal seating location for the movies.  The front section of The Green is reserved solely for ground seating only (no chairs, strollers, etc).  The rear portion of The Green can accommodate seating for small (low profile) chairs.  If you are not using your baby stroller during the movie, please park it at the perimeter of The Green, so all of our guests can easily see the screen.  During movies that draw exceptionally large crowds, the surrounding sidewalks in front of the vacant store fronts can be used as additional seating locations.

WHAT IF I AM PLANNING TO COME WITH A LARGE GROUP? We are not able to reserve space for groups. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

WHERE ARE THE RESTROOMS? The restrooms are located adjacent to The Green, next to Desert Daisy.

ANYTHING ELSE?  Please note that the traffic circle around The Green will remain open to vehicular traffic during the movie screenings.  Additionally, several of the lights in the area will be turned off during the movie.  Please use caution when crossing the circle to get into The Green.
